I wanted to stay home today

I got up this morning to the sounds of "Mama, I need you!" The morning routine was a little off because Craig had to go into work early. He was still around to do the bulk of the morning Alex prep, but Alex has inserted a new, adorable step to the morning routine. He needs to sit on the couch with me and snuggle for 3-5 minutes before eating breakfast. I'm not one to turn down a snuggle, so I always comply. This morning as we were sitting there snuggling, he said, "I want to stay home." I explained that he had school today and that I would be dropping him off instead of Daddy. "But I want to stay here. With you. And Dad." Let me tell you, it's a gorgeous day here in Wisconsin... blue skies, sunshine, warm but not hot. The thought of staying home today was tempting, especially after such a fun weekend. But not today... today we did not play hookie. But next time... just maybe we will stay home.
