I've been on a roll with posting this week, so I figured I'd squeeze in one more where I answer some of the questions I've seen in comments.
Filoli: I don’t know if BreakingTheTape.com syncs with Garmin. I don’t have a Garmin and I’ve only been using BTT to track my distance. I use MapMyRun.com to figure my distances. And thanks for the link about the virtual mile. My best mile time is hovering around 10 minutes, nowhere near what these other runners are posting, but great for me!
Kat: Which Jane Austen book did you put down?! I love Austen! I know this is cheating, but I will watch one of the movie versions of Austen before reading the book, so I at least know the general storyline. I find it helps me get more out of the book without getting too tripped up by the language.
Sophia: I’ve never talked to a fellow blogger on the phone either… except for the one I know in real life.
Shannon: So far I like “The Jane Austen Book Club,” MUCH better. But it’s confusing (see my question below). I soooo want to read “Austenland!” You must tell me how it is!
Now it's my turn to ask some questions.
“The Jane Austen Book Club”… anyone out there read the book? Who the heck is the narrator? I’m so confused… there are six people in the book club. The narrator keeps saying “we” and “our” but then refers to all six book club members by their first names. Is it an omniscient narrator? Are we, the reader, supposed to be reading as if we are part of the book club? I’m completely distracted by this. Someone please help me figure this out!
As for weekend plans, I hope to relax, read, run, crochet, grill out, and spend lots and lots of time with Alex and Craig. Have a great weekend everyone!

I didn't enjoy the Jane Austen Book Club and I think it was for that very reason! I felt like I never really knew who was talking and by the end didn't even know what the heck I was supposed to be reading about.
Didn't read it but now I'm curious to do so!!
Hallie :)
I am kind of going through this dilemma with a book right now. I am at the beach and brought along a book I picked up from an "inspirational fiction" table called The Wedding Machine. Right now it seems kind of scattered, but I'm hoping it will all come together as I get further into it. Reading for pleasure is such a treat, so I hope it will get better!
I didn't really enjoy the "Jane Austen Book Club" either, but I did like the movie. Sometimes, but only sometimes, the movie IS better than the book.
If you're looking for an awesome Jane Austen spinoff (P&P in particular), I highly recommend either "Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife" by Linda Berdoll (but not so much her "Darcy and Elizabeth: Days and Nights at Pemberley") or the "Fitzwilliam Darcy, gentleman" trilogy by Pamela Aiden.
I have watched the movies. I am still stuck with the language. And I decided, like you, it was okay to move on. I have not read "Jane Austen book club" but I did read "Austenland" this week. It was okay. Normally I just love Shannon Hale, and this one not so much. I do have "Confessions of a Jane Austen addict" on my shelf that looks good.
Have a nice weekend!
Confession: I love your blog. I've been reading for a few weeks now. Also just wondered if you wanted a custom made header for your blog? My prices are the best you can find. Check out my work at http://creativeblogdesigns.blogspot.com
Love Sydney's Bookshelf... and Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite reads of all time. (Keira Knightley is brilliant in the movie.) Try Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible, too.
Syd-stop by my blog when u can!
