From Galesburg to Greatness

Check this story out.... a kid from my hometown (and I can call him a kid because he graduated from high school 6 years after I did) is modeling for Ralph Lauren!
My mom had Pierre as a student in class when he was at GHS. What an amazing story! I love stories like this, of kids who come from small-ish towns and go on to do extraordinary things. I also love it when newspapers give people this kind of attention. When little kids back in Galesburg read or see this story, they'll know that it's possible to achieve great things no matter where you come from geographically. You just have to work hard! Congratulations to Pierre!

That is pretty cool! A guy I grew up with (my family knew his slightly) was on HGTV awhile back on that designing show.

Very cool indeed. A kid I went to h.s. with is on a comedy show and another I went to college with seems to pop in different shows on TV.

It's always great to see someone you "know" make it big, good conversation piece. Motley Crew's Tommy Lee and Vince Neil went to my high school, graduated the year before I entered but Tommy's sister was still there. They were in with the "Parky, Party crowd." I know big surprise!

Funny though, they would always tell the media they went to Hollywood High LOL...guess it sounds better than Charter Oak/Royal Oak High in Covina, CA.

I read the story you linked. He seems like an all-around good guy, so it's great to know he has found success. And it will be neat to feel like I know him -- or at least a little about him -- when I see the ads.
