Sweet Surprise

I came home last night to a very sweet surprise. Nestled between my front door and the screen door was a little cube wrapped in brown paper. The return address label carried the name of my friend and fellow blogger Shawna. I was excited and couldn't for the life of me figure out why she was sending me something. I unwrapped the little package to find a truly unexpected gift.
She read my post about losing two packs of notecards and sent me these beautiful notecards in all kinds of cute patterns! Thank you, sweet friend! I absolutely love them! By the way I have no idea how she had the strength to get these wrapped and to the post office... she's been fighting mono! But I am most appreciative! Wish you lived closer, I would make you some soup to help you feel better!
I did find the mysterious missing notecards in my desk in the basement. Here's a sampling of the cute cards I've found in the dollar spot at Target (that's pronounced Tar-ZHAY, for all of you non-French speakers out there). Rest assured, I will be sending Shawna a very timely, very cute Thank You note, very soon.

I just recently purchased some notecards from Target. I love their $1 aisle!

That was a very kind gesture for her to send you those...especially if she's sick!

That is so sweet of her! I have a friend like that too. A few months ago she asked for my mailing address. I didn't mind giving to her since we had chatted on the phone before. A week or so later she sent me a charm bracelet that she had made just for me in the mail. It was so sweet!

That's a really sweet thing for her to do... Gives you faith in human nature!!

I'm also a great believer in what comes around, goes around. if you are nic to people, then they are nice back and you are obviously a nice person!!

I must go and check out the Target gift cards, those ones you have a so pretty...

I'm glad you like them! I'm actually blushing because of your sweet thank you post and all of the nice comments--he he he! I totally agreed with your post on the necessity of carrying on the tradition of written notes--it's all too easy to blast off an email, so it really means something when people send notes--thank you or otherwise. Unfortunately, my grandmother thinks I don't send notes/letters to HER nearly as often as I should!

How nice. I love to do unexpected things like that. But I cannot recall the last time I sent a handwritten note. (And no, I am not neglecting my thank you note duties - I just don't get presents :-) I have to buy cute notecards for the girls to use...and I am going to have to check out Tar-jay for their latest offerings...
