When I started running seriously back in February, I had a mission in mind. Two years in a row I walked the 5K Race for the Cure in honor and memory of Craig's, Joyce Neaman. Five years ago, she passed away. Twice she fought breast cancer. She was tough in her fight, sweet in her disposition always. I walked in honor of her.
Now... it is in her honor that I will run. Race for the Cure is Sunday September 28th at Milwaukee's lakefront. It will be a beautiful day, as it always is. I invite everyone to come down and experience Race for the Cure.
This is a fundraising run, and 75% of the money raised stays right here in Milwaukee and goes to breast cancer research. Please consider making a donation. No amount is too small.

I'm so bummed that our Race for the Cure is on a Sunday, so I won't be able to participate:-( But it is just one more thing we have in common...my maternal grandmother died after a second fight with breast cancer before she was 40. Puts a face to a very real struggle.
Glad you're back...albeit BUSY and back!!
good luck on the run! i donated in honor of my mom. she got a masectomy and she's doing well. you'll do awesome.... :)
Good luck with your run! I am still amazed at all you are doing.
Way to go, Sydney. Can't wait to read about your finish.
Good luck with the run. I really like how now a lot of these causes keep the money in the area!
That's awesome! Have fun on your run!
Good luck I know it will be great!
You can do it! Just start slow and short and before you know it you will be able to go longer and longer (at least that it what I am hoping for, too)! Keep us updated - what a wonderful motivation to run!
My MILs sister died of breast cancer 4 years ago. From the time she was diagnosed and on, our family has Raced for the Cure. What an inspiration the walk is!
Have a great run!!
I love that you are doing this.
hope everything went well
What a great thing for you to do. I have supported my cousin, who has run marathons in honor of my mom, who is in remission from multiple myeloma. I know your efforts mean a whole lot to your extended family.
