The thing I love about these little guys is they are pretty easy. You have to do a lot of counting, but they go together fairly fast. I've figured out that I'm much better with small projects. Blankets are too ambitious. If it takes me more than a few weeks to finish, there's a good chance I'll get bored. I've got one other critter pattern I want to try... maybe that will be for Adam. Otherwise, I'll be making him a bear as well!

Fun With Yarn
I have a new favorite yarn project... little animals. I found these two free patterns online through Lion Brand Yarn. These pictures are in reverse order (I can't figure out why blogger does this to me). The most recent critter is the blue bear for Alex. He loves it! He saw me making these critters for other people and requested one of his own. So of course I had to oblige!
This is the same pattern, done with a pale pink yarn. The color did not photograph well. I'm struggling with squaring up the faces. But I think it gives them character. This little bear went to a blogger friend Ashley, who had a baby girl a few weeks ago.
This is a puppy I made for another blogger friend, Shawna, who had a baby girl last fall. It's dressed in Pittsburgh Steelers/Pirates colors!
This little puppy was made for my friend Therese... who welcomed beautiful baby Alexandria in September.
And this is the first puppy, made for my friend Zenna's baby boy, Logan. Logan was born two weeks before Adam. And Zenna and I have been friends since kindergarten. Too cool!

These are so cute!! I really wish I could get into doing stuff like this...I just need to set my mind to it, and try it!
What a clever knitter you are! I especially like the third one in his striped shirt:)
These are adorable! I really need to teach myself to knit!
