It's been awhile since I entered a blog contest, but I entered one this weekend and won!
To see what I won... check this post out... two super cute kids shirts and a pair of legwarmers.
(May have to pass those on to someone with a girl, or hope that someday I have a girl of my own.)
I stumbled across Rook 17 on SITS. I was kind of out of the SITS loop for awile, but am trying to get back into it. It's a great way to discover new blogs and support other bloggers. They also have GREAT blogging tips every Saturday.
So I can't wait to get the t-shirts... I will take pictures of Alex in them and post them here! Thanks Rook No. 17!

My T-Shirts are Famous!
Earlier this month I posted about a website called TeeCycle.org.
Another one of my shirts has been posted! Check both of them out here and here.
I can't say enough about this really cool site. Vintage, pre-loved t-shirts at great prices... for a great cause.
In fact, TeeCycle.org is a finalist for a pitch contest at SXSW that's sponsored by Pepsi. Check out the pitch here, and vote for Tim and TeeCycle!
Check them out if you have time, and help spread the word!

I'm Flattered!
I've recieved two awards from bloggers I've only recently discovered, and I must say I'm flattered.
The first one comes from Meaghan at I Kicked Cancer's Ass. The description is "This blog invests and believes, in ‘proximity’ [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' - being close through proxy]. These blogs are all charming and they aim to show the marvels of friendship. Let’s give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to eight bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text."
So here's my list of 8:
1. Therese at Musings of a Mom - This blog is her fault and she's my friend in real life. She's probably annoyed that I keep giving her awards.
2. Ellen at Two Little Ladybugs- Kindred Spirit
3. Holli at Three Wishes - a kindred spirit from Goodreads
4. Tera at Days of Us- another kindred spirit from Goodreads
5. Alison at Hairline Fracture - a friend I met through SITS
6. Kristy at Two People, Two Dogs, and a Cat - we've been friends in real life since we were kids
7. Terri at Wee Bit Irish - friend from high school with whom I recently reconnected through the magic of the internet.
8. Sarah at Spelman Scoop - another friend from high school. That internet... it's a pretty cool thing!
The second comes from Jess at Momma Cooks Cooking.
I have to list 6 things about me.
1. I have brown eyes and brown hair. The blonde stuff is highlights.
2. I forgot to put my carton of eggs on the conveyor belt at the grocery store today, and walked out of the store without paying for them. But I paid for the $77 dollars worth of other stuff.
3. I feel bad about item 2.
4. I have some big news to share, but am waiting till later in the week to post it. And no, I'm not pregnant. Why is it that anytime you mention you are sick or that you have big news that everyone assumes you're pregnant? At what age does this start happening? And why do people think it's okay to ask you that?
5. I'm going to see "Wicked" in Chicago with three of my friends this weekend and I CAN'T WAIT!
6. I went to Paris after I graduated from college. Someday I'll go back...
Then pass it on to six more bloggers:
1. Amber at The McIllece Spot
2. Amy at Escape Into My Thoughts
3. Teri at Let Me Think On It
4. Katy Lin at Honest and Lasting
5. Katie at Ritch in Love
6. Judy at Coffee Jitters

Welcome Milwaukee Visitors!
So I can't find the iconic picture of Milwaukee's City Hall with the "Welcome Milwaukee Visitors" sign made famous by "Laverne and Shirley," but welcome visitors to my little corner of the blogosphere.
I am the featured blogger today on the SITS Girls Recipes site! I feel so honored! I feel so unprepared! I need to clean house! I need to add more recipes! I need to fix broken links and messy lists! Tidy the joint up a little bit.
I hope you enjoy my recipes, and the rest of my blog. Now that I've been featured on a recipe blog, I'm taking a vow to post one new recipe a week. I'm not committing to a day yet, just one recipe a week. Enjoy!
Tortellini Carbonara With Ham
2 pkgs frozen cheese tortellini
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 1/2 cups chopped cooked ham
1 1/2 cups half and half
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 large eggs
1/4 teaspoon black pepper (I use ground peppercorns from a pepper mill) or more to taste
Bring three quarts of water to a boil. Add tortellini and cook according to package directions. Drain well, set aside. Heat oil in deep 12 inch, non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add ham, cook 1-2 minutes to heat through. Add half and half, stir well continue to heat.
In small bowl combine eggs and cheese. Beat well to combine. Slowly stir egg mixture into cream mixture. Continue to stir and cook until mixture begins to thickent (about 2-3 minutes). Remove skillet from heat. Add cooked, drained pasta. Return to medium-low heat, stirring and tossing pasta till coaated. Season with black pepper. Makes six servings.

Time for a change
The great bathroom remodel of '08 starts tomorrow. Craig and his dad are doing it all themselves. I'm excited and nervous about this. I will post pictures of our lovely, slightly updated 1950's bathroom tomorrow. It's pink and cream. BLECH. Pink and cream alone are not bad, but when your tub, sink and toilet are pink, that's another story altogether. When it's finished, it will be navy and white. This is a major undertaking, they're taking the walls down to the studs in places, and fixing some of the plumbing. I'm sure they know what they are doing, but I will be doing much better once this is over.
As long as we've got one remodeling project underway, I'm going to start one of my own. I'm going to start playing with my blog layout today. So bear with me if it gets a little weird looking. I discovered LeeLou designs thanks to another blogger who shares my name (Thanks Sidney!) and I think I'm going to give it a shot. Wish me luck!

Makeover my Blog
The green dots are getting old and tired. I need something to spice things up!
Everynow and then you need some color, maybe a little pizzaz. I think my blog is definitely in need. One of my blog buddies introduced me to a new distraction, The Secret is in the Sauce.
Their latest contest is to win a header or possibly even a design from Eight Crazy Design. All I can say is WOW! I've been in awe of web designers for awhile now. I have a greater appreciation for them now, after having to fill a pre-designed website full of content for work. It takes a lot of technical know-how and creativity! I haven't a clue about the technical stuff, but if I could manifest my creativity into a web design, I think that design would look like something from Eight Crazy. So I hope I win, and my bloggy dream comes true!
