Guess Who's Three Months Old??

This cheerful little guy is three months old today! I can't believe it! Time is going so fast. So far he's a good sleeper, a good eater, and every bit as cute as his big brother was at this age.
Catching a snooze with Dad.
This one was actually taken today... three months old!
Go Bears! (Gotta get him wearing the right team and colors young. It's going to be tough enough having them grow up in Packers country.)

Because I Can't Figure Out What Else to Post...

... and because I'm not feeling particularly creative, here are some more pictures of Adam. Enjoy!
We figured out that propping him up in the corner of his crib gives a much better angle on his adorable face than plopping him in the bouncy seat.

I love this one! Look at those eyes and eyelashes!

Baptism Day!

Adam was baptized on Sunday in the same church I attended growing up. Craig and I were married in this church and Alex was also baptized there. Oh, and the priest who performed our wedding also baptized both boys. It was really special to carry on that tradition in my hometown.
Here's the first official picture of all four of us. It only took us about 2 months to get a picture of all of us, but at least we have one now... and it's not too bad!
Here's a picture of us with the godparents... our sister-in-law Sarah (she's married to Craig's brother Brian) and my brother Mike.

I can't get over the number of boys in this family. This is Alex with all four of his cousins (the little blonde guy belongs to Brian and Sarah... the others are my sister's kids). 5 boys grandchildren on my side of the family. No girls yet. YET. We need more estrogen...
Here's Alex and Nathan having a snack. They are only about 18 months apart in age and they are great pals!

The weekend also marked the first time Adam got to meet Uncle Mike and Aunt Jen. Obviously Adam got along very well with Uncle Mike. Sadly, I just now realized I did not get a picture of Adam with both Mike and Jen in it. (Mental note for next time... also need to check to see if anyone else got a picture with Mike, Jen and Adam.) It was also great for me to point out to Alex that he needs to be nice to his little brother... because someday his little brother may be bigger than him!

Baby Pictures

By popular request, a couple of new pics of Adam... he and I will be tackling our "to-do" list today. Running a couple of errands and trying to get some more thank you notes done are at the top of the list!

Redefining "A Good Day"

Now that I'm home on maternity leave with a baby, I've had to redefine my thoughts on what constitutes a good day.

Right now, a good day involves:
* 5 uniterrupted hours of sleep
* getting a shower
* not getting pooped/peed/spit up on
* getting some sort of dinner made
* picking Alex up on time from school

A really good day involves:
* hair dried and curled
* makeup applied
* doing things around the house

A super good day involves:
* leaving the house other than picking Alex up from school
* visits from friends or going to meet friends

Honestly it's the little things right now that make me happy. Clean clothes. Clothes that fit. Clean hair. Peace and quiet with Adam, and then later in the afternoon with Alex. I've gotten a little reading done here and there. I've figured out that I can crochet while nursing Adam. It's great because I'm spending quality time with the boys and getting a few things done for me as well.

Long Time No Post!

It has been forever since I've posted, but I've been a little bit busy with the new baby, the holidays etc.

To catch you up, Adam is one month old today! I can't believe how fast time is going. We're all doing great so far. I'm very thankful to have so much time for maternity leave (I'm taking nine weeks) but also a little sad because my leave is nearly half over. Also sad that we don't get adequate maternity leave in this country. Other countries allow up to a year off... some with partial pay, some with full pay! But I can't complain too much. My employer has been great so far.

We survived the holidays. We had a week of non-stop visitors. It was fun, yet exhausting all at the same time. It was great to see everyone though. We were glad people were able to drive up to visit us and that the weather wasn't too awful. Craig went back to week the week after Christmas, so I had one week with both boys home. Then Alex went back to school the first week of January.

Alex is adjusting very well. He's having the usual challenges of a 4 year old: not listening, needing multiple reminders to do a task, sassing, etc. But he is great with Adam. There really hasn't been any jealousy to speak of. Alex adores his little brother and we are glad for that! Alex is also doing really well in school. His teacher has commented to us that he's doing much better with listening and focusing on his work. So again, hooray for that!

I haven't read many blogs, and don't know when I'll have time to catch up. So I'll comment when I can and I hope you'll tune back in to mine. I hope this is the beginning of my getting back in the swing of things.

Finally a Picture!

Hi everyone! I've been home for a week now and still feeling a little overwhelmed. Thanks for all the well wishes, emails, comments, and calls. Adam is doing GREAT! He's such a good baby, I feel a little spoiled because Alex was also a great baby.

I haven't had any time to post, let alone read other people's blogs. So bear with me while I try to get back into the swing of things. In the meantime... here's a picture of my two boys! (I love saying that!)
I'll try to post a brief version of the birth story in the next couple of days. I'll also post more pictures, too.
