Craig and I are cruising toward our 10th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe. While we're not taking a cruise to some exotic location, getting a hut in the South Pacific, or jetting off to Europe, we did want to do something special to mark this occasion. After much discussion, narrowing down of locations, and debating what we wanted out of this trip... we have settled on a destination!
Charleston, South Carolina here we come!
We're going next month... what I need is suggestions on places to eat and where to stay. We'll probably use Priceline or Hotwire, but I'm open to specific suggestion or suggestions of what part of the area would be good. Also... any thoughts on whether we ought to rent a car? I'm thinking we should.
Very excited!!!!

no suggestions but I hope you have a great time.
So excited for you! I've never been so I don't have any suggestions but I'm excited to see pics and hear all about it....
How lovely for you! I've never been, but I've heard good things.
We went a week before Christmas! So many neat places to stay, depends on whether you want a regular hotel or something with a bit of history. There are several that former presidents stayed in, etc.
I recommend eating at Hylands. Best scallops I ever had! And the service can not be beat.
Oh my...Hylands...apparently I was thinking teething instead of food! What I meant to recommend was Hyman's! Mommy brain...
Ohhhh...I LOVE Charleston. What are you looking for? I've stayed at Charleston Place...I felt like Pretty Women and AWESOME LOCATION, The Mills House....older hotel but nice and good location, and Francis Marion Hotel....older, nice hotel but smallest bathroom I have ever experienced. And food...some of my faves: 82 Queen, High Cotton, Hyman's,and T-Bonz. (The first two are higher in price but 82 Queen is worth it!) And don't leave without having a warm praline! Oh, it such a wonderful place. Take your walking shoes! Let me know if you need any more info...it's only an hour and 45 min. from us!
